I think the upper levels of St. Catherines could be used to take classes from CCAC, adult and youth. Maybe the gym could be used for exercise classes and part time community center for everyone during the winter months.

I agree that St. Catherine’s would be an excellent choice for a community center for our youth. Everyone complains that they hang on the street corners. Well that is a no brainer. They just have no where else to go. There are so many things that can be done, art classes, cooking classes, basketball teams, the ideas are endless. I saw a paper on the community center at Moore pool and thought, what a great idea. Trouble is, that building is so small and they really do not do much of anything there. You want to stop crime, give the kids something else to do.

Please change the entry posted about the Beechview Block Watch meetings as it is not correct.

There are regular monthly community meetings scheduled. We try to keep the same message so people get used to having them the first Thursday of each month. (see info below)
    Thanks. Phyllis

Beechview Area Concerned Citizens at 7:00 pm. and Beechview Block Watch at 8:00 pm. Both are at the Beechview United Presbyterian Church (across from Foodland). All are welcome for one and even better, both!
